The Road to Poland

We set out and were rather disappointed that the Safari Zoo Campsite was closed for renovations, so we could not camp with a view of the lions roaming the Czech landscape. As cool as that would have been, we drove on to this rather nice lake spot, which we had to ourselves. No wild animals, but quite pretty.
Liam had spotted a little icon on our massive European road map that looked like it could be interesting, so on our drive towards Poland the next morning, we headed to the Adrspach-Teplice Rocks, a strange formation of rocks that pop straight up out of the otherwise gently rolling plains. Looking at the map of the area, it recommended 3 hours for a 2.9km walk, which we figured was very conservative. So on empty stomachs we set out and realised that there would be a lot of VERTICAL to this “walk”. Our steep entry fee (and pricey parking!!) turned out to be money well-spent, as the park had boardwalks and paths through the stones, and then ladders and ramps that took us up amongst them, with waterfalls and crystal clear streams running around them, and dripping moss with psychedelic yellow lichens decorating the stones.
